CheapTrip combines flights, trains, buses, ferries and rideshares into one journey and finds the cheapest way from A to B — including the clever combinations that no single airline or booking site will ever show you.

Six ways to move. One search.
Most search engines look at one kind of ticket. CheapTrip looks at all of them at once and joins them into a single route.
Flights
Low-cost and full-service carriers, including secondary airports.
Trains
High-speed, regional and night trains across borders.
Buses
Intercity coaches, often the cheapest link in the chain.
Ferries
Sea crossings and island hops where a plane makes no sense.
Rideshare
Shared rides that fill the gaps between stations.
Transfers
Metro and airport links so the route really connects.
From A to B in three moves
You choose the start and the destination. The engine does the part that usually takes an evening and twenty browser tabs.
Tell us A and B
Type where you start and where you want to end up. Any city in the network, no airport codes needed.
We stitch the route
The engine tests combinations of flights, trains, buses, ferries and rideshares across hubs a normal search never pairs together, then ranks them by total price.
Pick it and go
See every leg with its time and cost, choose the cheapest or the best value, and book each leg with the carrier.
Standard search vs CheapTrip
The cheapest trip is often not one ticket. It's a bus to a smaller airport, a low-cost flight and a train on the other side.
Standard search
One mode, one seller, main airports
CheapTrip
All modes, all combinations, total price
Same illustrative route as above. Actual prices depend on dates and availability.
The smartest way to travel cheap
Smarter than standard search
Other sites compare prices for the same kind of ticket. We compare entire journeys built from different kinds of tickets.
Save big
Combining a cheap bus with a low-cost flight and a regional train often costs a fraction of the obvious direct option.
Multimodal magic
Flights, trains, buses, ferries and rideshares in one itinerary, with every connection and every price laid out.
Perfect for explorers
Cheaper routes pass through places you'd never have picked. Stay a night, see a new city, keep going.
No limits
No fixed hubs, no single carrier, no partner lock-in. If there's a cheaper way through, the engine looks for it.
A real route engine
A graph of cities, stations and carriers is searched for the lowest total cost, not just the lowest single fare.

Six habits of cheap travellers
The route engine finds the price. These habits keep it low.
Think beyond the main airport
Secondary airports an hour away often have fares at half the price. A cheap bus or train link usually still leaves you well ahead.
Let the bus do short hops
Under 300 km, an intercity coach or regional train beats flying on price and often on total time once airport queues count.
Leave room between legs
Separate tickets mean you own the connection. Build in a buffer, especially between a flight and a fixed train or ferry.
Pack for the cabin
Hold-luggage fees can double a low-cost fare and add up across every leg. One small bag keeps every leg cheap.
Travel overnight
A night train, bus or ferry moves you and saves the price of a bed. Two costs, one ticket.
Eat where locals eat
Markets, bakeries and lunch menus away from the main square. Every city guide has a cheap eats section for that.

Is CheapTrip free?
Yes. Searching routes and reading the city guides is free and needs no account.
Does CheapTrip sell the tickets?
CheapTrip finds and combines the route. Each leg is booked with the carrier or its booking partner, so you always see who you're travelling with and pay their price.
Why is a route with more legs cheaper?
Fares depend on demand, airports and carriers. A bus to a secondary airport plus a low-cost flight and a train often costs far less than one direct ticket on a busy route.
What if I miss a connection?
With separate tickets, each carrier is only responsible for its own leg. Leave a comfortable buffer between legs, check the transfer time we show and consider travel insurance for complex trips.
Are the prices exact?
Prices are indicative and come from carrier data that changes constantly. Always confirm the final price on the carrier's site before you pay.
Which destinations are covered?
The network spans Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania and the Americas, with budget guides for 320+ cities. If a city isn't listed, try the route search: it covers more places.
Where to next?
Pick a start, pick a destination, and let CheapTrip find the cheapest way between them.
